Further, strategy to promote continual improvement in all aspects of the business for example prevention of pollution arising from our processes will be evaluated for implementation.

As a progressive organisation, in the pursuit of supplying a Quality Assured output, we will be vigilant to observe ethical Health & Safety and Environmental best practice, appropriate to the activities of this business and our customer’s expectations.

Appriva Sourcing & Manufacturing only trades with product suppliers who commit to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which we adopted from the Base Code of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI). This code of conduct states that:

  1. All employment is freely chosen
  2. Working conditions are safe and hygienic.
  3. Child labour is not used.
  4. Wages are fair and comparable to industry standard and will always exceed the minimum wage.
  5. Deductions from wages as a disciplinary measure shall not be permitted.
  6. Working hours are not excessive.
  7. No discrimination is practised.
  8. Regular employment is provided for those who are employed on a permanent contract.
  9. No harsh, cruel or degrading treatment or practices are allowed.
  10. No bribery, corruption, blackmailing or bullying is permitted.
  11. Third Party Suppliers and buyers are both free to sell and buy from any number of other businesses. No restrictions, as a way of guaranteeing business, are allowed.

We also ask all our suppliers to affirm to us that their businesses are also built on these ethical criteria. We have developed a full policy statement outlining how we expect our practice to develop in order to be able to offer strong guarantees to our customers that the services they receive from us have been ethically designed, managed and implemented.

We will ensure adherence to and awareness of these principles by:

  • Communicating our code of conduct clearly to our suppliers and the workers who make our products.
  • Conducting independent assessments of the working conditions at manufacturing sites in line with our code of conduct.
  • Working collaboratively with suppliers and positively engaging with the people in our supply chain to overcome issues and ensure the continuous improvement of working conditions.
  • Ensuring that our code of conduct is understood by our buyers, is integrated into their core business and our own purchasing practices do not encourage breaches of the code.
  • Ensuring a sound understanding of our code and our Ethical Trade programme throughout the business.
  • Appriva has processes for checking and counting incoming materials ,i.e. fabric and random trim counts.
  • Branded IP materials (e.g. fabric, buttons, labels, swing tickets etc.) are stored separately and securely away from the production area and/or away from other customer’s raw materials. All materials are stored separately for each customer.
  • All storage areas have warehouse supervisors. Control is conducted through computer programming system (Nebim) where every single entrance and exit is recorded.
  • Appriva has a process to ensure that only the exact quantities of branded IP materials are issued relative to the order (whether internal/external)
  • In Nebim system we buy all materials allocated to a specific order. Therefore anyone (such as warehouse supervisor or production affirmative) who is making transaction on the material, can see its order number directly.
  • Security measures are in force in the finished goods and raw materials warehouses. Entrance /exit is not allowed without Nebim system confirmation and warehouse supervisors are in charge of their warehouses.
  • Factory Manager and Warehouse Supervisor is responsible in the factory for ensuring the security of the customer’s Intellectual Property.
  • Appriva has negotiations with recycling companies. Waste materials such as fabrics, trims etc. are recycled aligned with our sustainability policies and our responsibility towards nature.
  • All branded IP of our customers are processed in our headquarters building in Gunesli/Istanbul. For example , fabrics are received with documents , checked, tested and cut in the same building. Cut pieces of branded IP fabric is issued to our factories/ sub-contractors
  • Appriva has a separate or secure area for the storage of each customer’s patterns and
    prototypes in the head office.
